In light of changes in Brazilian educational policies, the weakening of the teaching community, and the erosion of labor relations in education, there is a pressing need to reflect on professional qualifications and teacher training. The Resolution CNE/CP No. 4/2024 plays an important regulatory role, establishing the recent National Curriculum Guidelines for the Initial Training of Basic Education Teachers. The objective of this article is to analyze the aforementioned resolution to discuss its implications for strengthening the discourse on performativity in teacher education. A qualitative, documentary approach was adopted, applying content analysis to the normative text. Based on the analysis of the corpus, performativity served as an interpretive lens, and, in conjunction with the literature, the emerged analytical categories were accountability and governmentality. The discussion notes that the resolution updates and refines the managerial logic of previous reforms. From the perspective of pedagogical implications, the established regulatory framework progressively restricts the space allocated to theoretical training and critical thinking, limiting teaching practice and autonomy to parameters of verifiability, while also creating tension with the very principles of emancipation and humanization espoused by the policy. Keywords: Teacher Education; Performativity; CNE/CP Resolution n° 04/2024.
