This article aims to analyze how well the academic and military qualifications of the officers of the Paraná Military Police (PMPR) align with the subjects in the curriculum of the Officer Training Course (CFO-PM). Starting from the premise that officers make up the main teaching staff at police academies, this documental, mixed-methods study used the four Thematic Pillars proposed by the National Curriculum Framework (MCN) of the Ministry of Justice as its reference. Data were drawn from a comparison of the Course Pedagogical Project (PPC) and the PMPR Officers’ Qualifications Almanac (2026). The results show broad symmetry and very high instructional compatibility in the pillars concerned with State structure, Management and Law, as well as in the pillar addressing tactical and operational intervention. However, the study identifies a gap in the Methodology and Research pillar, caused by a shortage of officers with stricto sensu degrees (Master’s and Doctorates). The article proposes strategic actions to promote officers’ academic qualifications, to universalize pedagogical training, and to establish institutional competence controls for CFO-PM teaching staff—measures essential to sustaining police education geared toward citizen security.
