The implementation of the Life’s Project course in Brazilian high schools following Law No. 13.415/2017 and the BNCC prompted research on its purposes, challenges and formative contributions. This study critically synthesized Portuguese‑language literature on Life’s Project from 2017 to 2025 through a qualitative integrative review guided by procedures inspired by PRISMA 2020, with searches in the CAPES Periodicals Portal, BDTD, SciELO and an institutional dissertation repository. After applying eligibility criteria, 16 studies composed the corpus, which was analyzed via thematic qualitative synthesis informed by content analysis. Findings link Life’s Project to self‑knowledge, autonomy, continued education, social participation and holistic formation, yet reveal tensions when the subject is reduced to vocational guidance, employability or individual responsibility for youth. The study concludes that its formative potential is not automatic and depends on qualified teacher training, adequate institutional conditions and critical pedagogical practices capable of connecting personal projects with citizenship, belonging and critical reading of social reality.
