Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to analyze the influence of Law No. 5,692/71 on teacher training within the educational context of Capanema, Paraná. Rather than delving deeply into the discussion of educational legislation, the purpose was to offer insights into the process of implementing educational legislation in a municipality in Paraná's interior and highlight its impact on primary school teacher training. This historical, documentary, and bibliographic study sought to understand the transition from Law No. 4,024/61 to Law No. 5,692/71, the proposed model for training elementary school teachers at the secondary level, and its effects on education in Capanema, Paraná. The study concluded that the process was slow. However, the analyzed experience revealed that Law No. 5,692/71 redefined teacher training paths and paved the way for a progressive appreciation of higher education, which was consolidated in the following decades.
